What is a projection?

Previous | Next

globe gores

Parameters: Warpage 1.0 ≤ k ≤ 3.0

A configurable projection intended specifically for use in the preparation of globe gores. Choose the gore count via the Interruptions menu.

Meridians: Complex curves.
Parallels: Complex curves.
Poles: Points. Each pole is repeated the number of times of the interruption count.

Warpage k: A way to adapt the gore shape to the medium on which it will be printed. This is found purely via experimentation; different papers and materials will respond differently to the surface and adhesives, with the response also varying by size.
