Tobler's World in a Square
It's a square cylindrical equal-area. It shows Europe accurately.

It’s already available, although it isn’t listed in the menus:
Select the cylindric equal-area projection, call up the Parameters dialog, and set the standard parallel to 55°39'14.2812"N.
Voilà, you’ve got Tobler’s world in a square!

But if Lambert equal-area, Behrmann, Smyth equal-surface, Trystan Edwards, Hobo-Dyer, Gall-Peters and Balthasart are listed in menus then why Tobler's World in a Square isn't?

Well, of course only daan can answer that.Piotr wrote:But if Lambert equal-area, Behrmann, Smyth equal-surface, Trystan Edwards, Hobo-Dyer, Gall-Peters and Balthasart are listed in menus then why Tobler's World in a Square isn't?
Buf if the wish you’re stating is just about a menu entry, then you should say so in order to avoid misunderstandings…

Because I had forgotten about Tobler’s when I programmed the specializations of cylindrical equal-area. It has been added to the upcoming release.Piotr wrote:But if Lambert equal-area, Behrmann, Smyth equal-surface, Trystan Edwards, Hobo-Dyer, Gall-Peters and Balthasart are listed in menus then why Tobler's World in a Square isn't?
