Stretch the map to minimize distortion in a certain point

I would like an option Stretch the map to minimize distortion in a certain point. For cylindrical projections, they would be stretched so that there is no distortion at that parallel. For pseudocylindrical, they would be stretched so that horizontal scale is vertical scale at that point.

That’s an interesting idea. Note that this can get complicated. If the Tissot ellipse at the point you specify is diagonal, then the scaling would be diagonal as well.
