Re: Display problem on M1 Mac
That is dissapointing. I suppose that these problems also make it hard to keep a common code base between the Mac and PC versions of Geocart. I still have my 2010 Mac Pro tower so Geocart works well for me on that computer.

Display problem on M1 Mac
Hi all, It's been a while since I used Geocart. I am opening the program on my M1 MacBook Pro. The Boundaries window and Projection Center window don't display properly. See the links below. The maps have a pixelated look and do not correspond to any clicks or drags on the window. Other than that Ge...

Re: Reproject high bit depth images
Yes you are correct. I can make the adjustment in Photoshop. I need to add 50% gray to above sea level pixels and subtract 50% gray from below sea level pixels which I can do with Photoshop's Calculations... command. I am happy that I can now reproject these databases.
Thanks,

Re: Make a map that matches an image
Thanks daan, That formula does make the map the same size as my image. And once I have the map the correct size it seems like I can use the center in document command to line up the image and map automatically. So that solves my problem. The Map Size and Resolution command does not seem to correspon...

Make a map that matches an image
I am struggling with making a map the exact dimensions of an image. I have an image that is 600 pixels square and is exactly 10 degrees horizontally and vertically in the plate carree projection. I want to make a matching Geocart map so that I can turn this image into a database but I am struggling ...

Re: Reproject high bit depth images
Oh no. It is not working for me. I know what the problem is. My databases are 16 signed integers and rgb images are unsigned. When I make a database with my elevation data in one of the 16 bit rgb channels Geocart anti-alias the edge between positive and negative numbers which produces incorrect val...

Reproject high bit depth images
My biggest wish is the ability to reproject high bit depth images. Most of the maps I make use elevation data to make a 3D map with terrain. All the elevation database I have, such as GTOPO, SRTM and NED contain 16 bit data. At the moment I have to degrade the data by converting it to a gray scale i...

Layers in exported pdf files
It would be helpful if Geocart put vector lines from each database on its own layer and named the layer with the name of the database when exporting pdf files. When I open pdf files in Illustrator that has a lot of databases in it, it is hard to tell which lines are which.

Shape files
Is there any way to color lines in a shape file based on the attributes in its .dbf file?

Re: Vector resolution
I found the answer to my question. The generalize vectors command on the map menu turns off the line simplification.
