Re: Display problem on M1 Mac
Easy workaround for this. You will have to set up a new APFS volume using disk utility (easy) . Get a copy of OS Ventura and install it on there. Copy Geocart to the applications folder on the new volume. Copy the Mathematics folder from old volume and place in the Library>application support folder...

Re: Display problem on M1 Mac
Allow me to chime in here. Geocart is one of the few small developer-owed apps the Apple hasn't driven out of existence and I love to use it knowing that there actually IS someone behind it that has my back. I use Geocart on a daily basis on a M2 Mac running Ventura and don't know how long it will b...

Is there a way to export shape files or GeoTiffs?
I'm looking for a way to export portions of a map as geodata (shape files or geoTiff) that can be read by a GIS program such as ArcGIS or Qgis. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, and shoutout to Dean! I'm a big fan

Re: extreme perspective projection advice needed
I've got plenty of vector data from OSM. Just need to show the sectors in Berlin with a few streets, then the major roads, rivers and borders

extreme perspective projection advice needed
I'm looking for a projection (perhaps tilted perspective) that I can show a view facing west with an enlarged Berlin and west Germany and western Europe diminishing into the background . Kind of like the Saul Steinberg New Yorker cover. I've tried Tilted perspective but cannot get the hang of the se...

Re: Project to match Ordnance Survey-Dublin
The wiki page says a Transverse Mercator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_grid_reference_system I tried your suggestion of Ellispoidal and it worked, it seemed. They map was tilted quite a bit but that's easy to fix. MANY THANKS for the quick response. How are you doing? I'm fine here, wife and k...

Project to match Ordnance Survey-Dublin
What projection should I use to duplicate the Ordnance Survey maps?? I'm doing very detailed maps of Dublin. I understand it is a form of Transverse Mercator .
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Very large exports
I have an DEM image about 40 in wide that I would like to export at as high a res as possible. At the moment when I export as TIFF at 125 dpi, I should have an image about 5000 px wide, but after over 30 minutes all I get is a blank TIFF file. It does shown my screen but does not export.

Re: setting boundaries for small-scale maps
Is there any progress here? I keep trying to crop to less than a single degree and get very mixed results. At least once a month I need to crop to about a tenth-degree square .
