Background colour and Borderless map export
A couple of small additions to the wish list: I've sometimes been reprojecting map layers which have only white and semi-transparent white pixels in them, such as snow and ice extracted from a blue marble image. Its true there are easy workarounds like inverting the image in Photposhop, but it would...

Overlap for globe gores
When cutting out paper globe gores it is a bit easier if the map spills over a little beyond the edges of each gore, so no slivers of white turn up on the finished globe. 2 degrees is plenty. For example it would be great if there was the option of lining up 12 gores that were 34 degrees wide each. ...

Re: Semi transparent black changed to to semi transparent gr
Hi daan, Thanks for replying. This has occurred when using a whole world platte carree image input as a PSD, and the output either as TIF or PSB. However, I just found out that if I input TIF then it comes out fine in both TIF and PSB ! Its also occured when mounting PSB image onto a "general r...

Semi transparent black changed to to semi transparent grey
When Geocart re-projects a map with a feathered black edge on a transparent background in it - i.e. a tone gradation from black to transparent that does not pass through any grey mid-tones - Geocart introduces grey mid-tones (though the transparency levels remain fine). The same happens when I re-pr...

Re: Pipeline map re-projection
Hi Daan, Thank you very much for the advice and the offer. Its not for a commercial project so I'm not going to throw any money at it though. I'm just trying to piece together a half-decent map of the oil industry to use as reference material for one of the map layers on the globe I'm making. http:/...

Pipeline map re-projection
Hi Daan, I'd like to re-project these two pipeline maps of Europe and Russia, but I cant find any projection information written on either map. Just by looking at them would you be able to make some educated guesses as to which projections they might be in? That would be great - there are so many pr...

Re: Add PRJ and GeoTIFF import/export
Hi Daan, When re-projecting maps in Geocart to upload onto an online slippy map or to use in software like JOSM (open street map editor) it would be very useful if one could export GeoTiffs. Otherwise one has to geographically tag the Geocart Tiff export file to make it a GeoTiff using QGIS or an on...

Re: Exporting graticule in vector format
Unfortunately, I havnt had much luck with the PDF file converters Ive tried. pdftodxf.com sent me an automated reply saying the file contained raster data (which it doesn't) and I would have to pay to get it converted. This one: http://download.cnet.com/AutoDWG-PDF-to-DWG-Converter/3000-18497_4-1067...

Re: Exporting graticule in vector format
Hi Daan, Thanks for the quick response. RhinoCAD support have told me that "Not all PDF files contain geometry that Rhino recognises. This one appears to be one of those." - so it sounds like it cant interpret the Bezier curves. Rhino does also import Adobe Illustrator files ( .ai ), thoug...
